I am dealing with a very irrational man who has been cheating on me for years. I have all the proof, and he knows it. We are still legally married and have been for ten years. We were moving across the country, and the children and I came first. We fought over the phone, and he flew out and took them out of school, and took them back to Md. He then got temp. emergency custody with false accusations of abuse. He is still trying to get back with me under the conditions that I go back, or never see my kids again here in California. That is not love or respect, that is mind control and abuse. I have been making him think that we could be back together even after he emotionally and mentally abused me for years. He has always been the bread winner in the family, and travels extensively for his job. My children are at my parents. I made plane reservations for next Sunday the 18th to get the kids back here. He thinks that when he is off this tour in April, then the kids and he will fly out to me to move to a different part of Cali. My mother, even knowing everything he has done, called him yesterday and told him of my plan. I just wanted the kids safe with me, before he gets divorce papers. Now, he is again with the threats and saying he will get the court papers reversed so that I have no say. Where do I start tomorrow for help to get custody? Do I go to a judge here first thing after calling Md, and explaining everything? And should I just get on a plane that I can't afford, as I already booked future tickets, and he has the money. Do I go to Child Protective? Or the YWCA for abuse. As well as I need some kind of legal assistance for Escondido, Ca? Please somebody answer. There are no court papers saying either parent isn't responsible for the kids.
