My first name was not spelled right when I was born. How do I go about fixing this issue?

How do you know that isn't the way you parents wanted it spelled? Did they say it was spelled wrong on your birth certificate but just never corrected it? We also need answers to Proserpina's questions. Thanks.

Depending on the state where you live, it might be easier to just seek a legal name change, rather than try to effect a change to your birth certificate.

So, simply GOOGLE: YOUR STATE LEGAL NAME CHANGE and determine if that is right for you.

Or, GOOGLE: YOUR STATE CORRECTING NAME ON BIRTH CERTIFICATE and decide if you'd TRY to go that route.
