I have a misdemeanor from 2001 in New York. My case stated Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal after six months. Will this show on my background check if I am looking for a job in New Jersey? Does Misdemeanor Redemption Policy make difference in my case?

What will and will not show on any given "background check" depends entirely on how deep and thorough a check is done. All background checks are not created equal - they do not always show the same results depending on who does them.

Was it actually judicially dismissed?

When you complete an application for employment, read all the questions very carefully & answer truthfully. As noted above, it's hard to say whether the history noted in your post will show up on a background check or not. It depends on how thorough & what kind of a background check the employer does.
