I helped a guy throw a couch away in a dumpster that belongs to a business. The owner has video of us throwing away the couch. The owner found the guy I helped and wanted $500.00 or he would call the cops. Well, he wasn't paid and now I received a call from a detective. I have never been involved in anything like this. The detective told the guy I helped that this is considered misdemeanor theft. What level is this offense? What can happen to me?
