Parole, Probation Misdemeanor probation curfew violation in Tx

My boyfriend has less than one week left of a six month adjudicated probation for class b communication assault on his now ex-wife. He stayed out too late and was caught by his probation officer. Is his probation automatically revoked or is it at the discretion of the probation officer to weigh seriousness of offense, closeness to completion, no prior offenses, first time arrest, etc?
