Attempting to answer a question from a friend that's not my area,,,,,he recently was awarded SSDI retroactive to 2005. He had one child in his custody age 17 to 18 years of age during this retroactive payable period. This child was recently sent a check for $4,000 for that one year period. She is now age 20 and lives away from the home. Should that check have been sent to the Dad who provided sole support for the year at concern? All comments and answers appreciated.
