If anyone could give me any sort of insight it would be greatly appreciated. My boyfriend and I are planning to get married. I am a Canadian citizen and he was born in the Dominican Rebuplic but has been a permanent resident for the last 28 years. We are planning to get married but wonder when in the process we should do this. He is planning on getting his citizenship. Does anyone know if marrying before he gets his citizenship would by default allow me to obtain citizenship as well, or if the best idea is to wait until he has obtained citizenship then get married. Thank you in advance for anyone who might be able to offer me any advice.
