As far as social security and such, am i legally married in the us if i was married in jamaica?

If your marriage is legal in Jamaica, it's legal in the US unless it goes against US law.

(An excellent example is an 8 year old girl becoming married to a 38 year old man for political, societal or monetary gain)

Yes, you're married, but SS might want MORE than a marriage license.
