I love in Texas Husband lived in Alabama. We were married 31 years but had not lived together at least 20 years, No legal seperation or anthing,We just left each other alone We have 2 grown children, He never paid any support. He was on disability & died recently. I never got any spousal payments of any kind. Disability or anything. He owns some land & a mobile home he bought a few years back. As far as anyone knows there was no will and he never lived with anyone else. Do I or our children have any rights to this land? He had a so called care giver some friends that took his money & paid bills each month I understand. They are saying they should get the land since they took care of him They have their own home they only took care of his money in checking account. If there is any money in his account ( I don't think there is or maybe couple hundred dollars.) Do my kids get that? Or do the caretakers? Her name is also on disability check & I suppose checking account too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
