Background:
I was a shift leader along with my roomate at a business. we signed a year lease, we added some other roomates. i decided i should move to help my family on the left coast. i told him i would be leaving the lease early and he did not mind. now after i moved he is demanding money...

the situation
i put in a more than 2 week notice i was moving. i gave my new address to the GM of the company before i left. now my ex-roomate and now assistant manager is holding my checks that were delivered to the business and not to the apartment. he demands money and wont send the checks.

im looking for advice on what i can do about this situation. this might be in the wrong section. any advice is helpful.

thanks in advance.

Do you having it in writing that management agreed to allow you to move out? If not it would be hard to argue that he/she approved you breaking your lease.

When you say he is withholding your checks, do you mean your pay check?
