Is it common for a woman to demand maintenance payments after receiving child support, but no alimony or personal support payments of any kind?

The maintenance $ is being requested because the child support is ending due to graduation of the youngest child. Does she have a right to it?

Too many variables. I would think that maintenance payments would have been part of the settlement in the divorce.

Well you'd think. My brother is being taken to court for maintenance payments right now, even though he never paid alimony in the first place and all property was liquidated and divided years ago. All the kids are grown and gone. It's a last ditch effort for the ex-wife to "earn extra money from home!" More as it develops... if it develops.

Definitely let us know how this develops. Just because someone files to request of the court to do something doesn't mean that it will happen. This occurs all the time, unfortunately.
