This past weekend I was driving home from work and i had a case of bacardi on the floor of the back of my car. I will be 19 in 3 weeks. The alcohol was not mine it was purchased by a friend. A day earlier, we were hanging out and she had purchased the alcohol, she is 21. Her younger sibling had to be taken somewhere. So when we got back to her house she asked if I could leave the alcohol in my car so her younger sibling didn't see it. I agreed and told her she could just get it back from me in two days when we had plans to hang out again. I forgot about it and the next night I was driving home from work and didn't completely stop at a blinking red light and was pulled over. The officer saw the alcohol in the back on the floor and took it. I told him a friend gave it to me. I was given a breathalyzer and blew a 0.00 as I had not been drinking and hadn't drank any of it. There were four bottles of unopened bacardi and 2 bottles that were gone but closed. He gave me my license back and gave me my ticket and told me my court date. On the ticket it says 4 bottles of bacardi in backseat and didn't say anything about not stopping completely at the blinking red light.
I was wondering how I should plea to this, would a plea bargain be the route to go? What should I expect for punishment? I am a delivery driver for a pizza place so losing my license would cost me my job. I also go to school 45 min. from my house. Losing my license would stop my life completely. I have two tickets on my record, a speeding ticket for 65 in a 55 and a minor traffic accident. I have to go to court in a week and a half. What should I expect and what should I do?
