Lost package usps question

Should I take the lost or should I continue?

I have two package that was suppose to be delivered in two different address however I accidentally print out the same shipping label twice? Now usps says there is nothing they can do.

The recipient claims did not receive twice; usps claims only one tracking label can be sent while the other is unknown. The item has not been returned back to sender.

Thanks
Dan

You know what happened and why. Don't make it worse.

That depends on where in transit it died. It may reappear if it was tagged enroute or it may have been delivered. About all you can do is see if it comes back, which is unlikely if it is valuable. The recipient will likely pay the postage due and keep it.

Well - apparently the recipient did get 2 packages or the one will come back to you. (not much you can do)
