Looking for something driving.

I was driving to work and was looking for my badge in my compartment. I wasn't looking at the road for 5-10 seconds and drove over a row of bunches of yellow road circles (I think everyone knows what I'm talking about in those circles in middle of road). I have a fear I may have hit somebody (maybe even dog or cat) and didn't know bc i was feeling small bumps driving over those circles. I hit a possum and obviously felt that hit but I didn't drive over those small road bumps. If I did hit a person or small animal do you think I still would have felt it?

Stop driving. You are unfit, based on your postings here and down the street, to operate any type of vehicle.

Good Lord! 5-10 seconds??? I agree - stop driving. If you're driving now (which seems likely), pull over safely, stop your car in a safe spot and call an Uber.

For reference, those little dots are called "Botts' Dots"

How fast were you driving? At 40 mph, you will drive nearly the length of two football fields in 10 seconds. Even at 25 mph, you'll drive more than the length of a football field, including the endzones, in 10 seconds. Are you really admitting to that level of gross negligence?

And I assume you're talking about Botts' dots. Correct?

If I did hit a person or small animal do you think I still would have felt it?

Probably, but none of us know your capacity for feeling things, and your admitted negligent behavior suggests maybe you wouldn't.

Howzabout next time you need to look for something in your glove compartment you wait until you are stopped (either at a light or at your ultimate destination).

I've never had the misfortune of smashing into a human being with my automobile.

If you REALLY want to know if you smashed into a human being, contact the police agency or sheriff department with jurisdiction of the location where the misdeed occurred and inquire.

A law enforcement agency is always happy when an unsolved case case is cleared.

Then why didn't you stop to make sure?

You are aware that "hit and run" is a crime, are you not? And that CA law indicates that injuing someone's pet counts as damaging property?

Read about CA Vehicle Code 20001 and CA Vehicle Code 20002.

Is your insurance up to date?
