I have a concern that I wanted to address. The local county government where I used to live sent back my tax return and w2's. However, when I opened up the envelope I found someone else's return and w2. I called the local government asking them to send me back my return and w2 so I could refile according to what needed corrected, and they stated oh ooops, we must have sent your return and w2 to someone else b/c we don't have it on file anymore. What type of legal recourse do I have and do you think I could receive any type of monetary award for such a mishandling by the government.
