Trying to make a long story short.... My grown son and daughter-in-law plotted to steal my daughter away from me. They made nice, and everything was well. She visited them, they visited--for almost a year. Then, when I went to pick her up after a two-week visit (me and hubby were moving out of town so I let my daughter and grand-daughter have some time) and the wife didn't want my daughter to go home with me. I called the police, because I'm a non-violent person, and the police misread court papers and told me to leave. After I went to the police station and several officers said the officer at the scene made a mistake--I filed a kidnapping report. After I did this, my daughter-in-law got guardianship. She claimed she did not know where me or dad was--I was at her house with her. Then she claimed later that she personally served me court papers-I was on job assignment in Kentucky hundreds of miles away. The thing is money. She caught us during a move out of state. Then she lied in court about my whereabouts, then told the judge something--the judge wouldn't even tell me the problem in court ! And turns out the judge was used. My daughter-in-law used my old name instead of my married name, and I thought that was strange. I later found out that if she had used my married name--that the judge would realize that she, herself, was related to me and should not handle the case. When my husband stood up in court and called the judge Auntie--it showed on her face that she didn't know. She gave a mean look to my daughter-in-law. She would talk no more. They still have my daughter. My other kids get to see her, but I have yet to talk to her or see her. It's hard to fight something when no one will tell you what to fight against. No abuse or anything--just this void. Now our funds are exhausted running back and forth to Michigan. Depression and tears, nightmares....which way do I go ? Makayla was 4 when I left her jumping on the couch with glee that the cops arrived and I could take her home--now she's 7 and all I can get is pictures stolen away by my kids on their picture phones while my daughter-in-law isn't looking. Help !
