Hello all,

Let me start by saying i am in Canada working, and my 16 year old son has just gone back to Virginia with hopes of joining job corps. He is staying with my sister, who is an adult and she is a high school teacher. The job corps need papers signed and a face to face meeting with a parent or guardian. I would like to give that to my sister but i can't come to Virginia to do so for a while yet.

My question is, is there a form or paper i can fill out/notarize from here in Canada and fax to her to achieve this? Without having to go there and go to court. We only have the summer in which to accomplish this task because he is not planning to enroll in school in Virginia.

thank you in advance for any help anyone might be able to offer us.

Thank you

The following site has forms for a standby guardian, but a court appearance may be required. You might also want to check out a power of attorney.
