Lease Termination from Landlord

My landlord insisits they posted a 60 day lease termination to the inside of my dwelling. However, they have never delivered it and I found out by shear accident about the situation, which puts me into an incredibly tight deadline. I requested them to fax me the lease termination and I received it 6 weeks later than the date on the lease termination notice. I sent acknowledgement back after receiving the fax. To me the date of receipt/confirmation is when the 60 day notice should start. Is this legally correct?
