hello, we recently signed a one year lease through our agent 9/10. we hired movers and started moving boxes in the garage. when we went to our new place to unpack the following day 9/11, we notice that the unit was infested with ants and other bugs that looked to be termites. there were other issues such as exposed electrical outlets, broken sliding door that we were unable to lock to secure our property.unsafe closet sliding doors that could derail and hurt someone easily. missing kitchen knobs & other minor damages. our agent was out of town,we called landlords agent directly and she said she would call us the next day to over the issues we had. she never called, our agent sent us an email asking us to move all the boxes from garage and return the keys. now that we called to return the key, she is refusing to return our refund and we need to know if we have legal rights. we desperately need your advise. PLEASE HELP!!

Start by answering "adjusterjack's" question. Also, what does "refusing to return our refund" mean? Why would your agent (as opposed to the landlord) return anything to you? Did you sign a lease? If so, have you and the landlord signed an agreement to terminate or rescind the lease? Have you found a new place to live?
