i live in alabama and im being sued by a apartment complex and if i dont show up to court will i be arrested? also my only income is child support from my ex husband. can they garnish that
Child support is generally protected from garnishment even once it's hit your bank account - however this doesn't mean the creditor can't get a writ of attachment and freezing the account completely.
Do you intend to have no income for the long term?
The court generally does not put out an arrest warrant for you. If you don't show up, the judge simply rules in favor of the plaintiff and what's granted is a default judgment against you.

Proserpina makes a good point -"Do you intend to have no income for the long term?" A judgment is good in Alabama for 20 years. Even though you may have no or many assets that can be seized at this time, doesn't mean you might not in the future.
