law re: living arrangements while caring for parent

I need to know if there is a law making it permissible to live in a camper temporarily while caring for an elderly parent? I was under the impression there were a 6 mos or so clause in the law regarding this short term living arrangement while caring for an elderly parent. I have been sited , so any response would be appreciated to give me an idea if I have anything to work with here.thank you iin advance. Buddy Taylor
