I have a single family property for rent and a potential tenant applied to rent it. The tenant has a very large emotional support dog. I have a no pet policy. I know the emotional support dog cannot be treated as a pet, but how can I secure myself as a landlord that this pet will not completely destroy my property? Can I put special verbiage in the contract or what can I possibly do? Help is greatly appreciated.

I used to own a couple dozen rental properties.

Your dilemma is one of the reasons I sold them all.

Today my money makes money, saving me from chasing money and dodging insane laws.

I hope someone can offer you a solution, buddy, because its madness out there.

My understanding is that an "emotional support" animal (as opposed to a service animal) is entitled to no special treatment under Ohio law.

I encourage you to read some of these search results.
