We gave 30 day notice on 1/3/08. Landlord stated we would pay rent through all of February since the notice had not been given on the 1st. We argued because our lease had been signed on 1/3/06. We are now moving out and he is rushing us, performing repairs on his own and we fear he will deduct them from our Security Deposit. Does he not have rights to our unit until the 3rd? We have moved our belongings and were going to take the time this weekend to paint, etc. He has done it himself. We now feel he should prorate the rent because he has taken ownership practically and is not even leaving 24 hour notices. Please advise and thank you!!!
