Landlord cut the lock off of my storage rental.

Rents have been paid, there is no money owing, and I received no notice of any problem, yet the landlord cut the lock off of my storage unit, entered and inspected the unit and left the unit unlocked leaving my broken lock laying on the ground.
Is this breaking and entering even if the landlord admits it was him that did it?
