lady. had a cow on a rope and the calf not i hit the calf can i sue

At night a lady was walking her cow and a calf on the side of. A fm road the cow had leash on it and the calf did not have a rope on it and was walking in the middle of the road when I hit the calf. Can I sue the owner?

Why would you sue the owner of the calf because you hit it? If anything, they might be able to sue you for not exercising care in driving and hitting the animal.
