My jurisdiction is: Colorado

OK, My ex wife and I have a 12 year old son who lives with his aunt and uncle, they are wanting to adopt him, all parties are in agreement, mom and I have the paperwork ready for relinquishment of rights. However the aunt and uncle are really dragging their feet on this, the only reason we can see for this is because mom and I pay over 500 a month in child support, and they don't want to lose it. My question is can mom and I file our paper work with the courts, without aunt and uncle to get this moving, it has been almost a year of waiting on them, and we can't afford an attorney, if we file our paper work will the court be able to request a response from them or at least get our part done with???:cussing:

I don't know if you can file, but I tend to doubt it. However, you've got nothing to lose, other than filing fees, by trying.
