After our family business failed we were left with a huge amount of debt. It was a sole prop and everything was in my name. I have not as yet returned to work. I filed Chapter 7 on 3/21.
My question is this- I might have an offer of a good paying job, but I don't want to do anything that might jeopardize the discharge of my bankruptcy. The job isn't enough to be able to pay off all the debt (with everything, I owe in excess of $800,000), but it would allow us to keep our house and begin rebuilding our lives. Should I wait until after the BK is discharged to go back to work or does it make any difference? Will the Trustee ask about my current situation? I have been unable to find an answer to this anywhere so any help is appreciated.
