I'd been with Alltel for approx. 4 years when Verizon bought them out. About 6 mos. back I had questions about my service so I called customer service. I verified all my information correctly except for my social security number. I was told that the social I gave did not match the rest of the information on file. Because of this, I have been locked out of my online account. As well, I cannot make any changes to the account over the phone. I had wanted to add another line as well as upgrade my existing phones & service features, but am not allowed to do so as my social security number does not match what they have on file. Since I know that this is not an error on my part, I was wondering if this could be grounds for terminating my service/contract with Verizon at no cost to myself? Thank you in advance.
