My son has been in jail for three month and been accused of statuory rape.
He claims he didn't do it. He was at home and intoxicated and the young lady knocked and when he opened the door he told her that she had to leave and couldn't stay. He doesn't remember letting her in.
He says that the officer questioned him at home and 1. didn't advise him legal representation nor told him that he needed on. 2. They assured him thatd he was going to be al right and if he signed it would have made things easier on him.
He claims that no DNA was done. His court pointed attorney told him that he was going to get him evaluated. Now after three month he is telling him that he either takes plea (nineteen years) or goes to trial and gets life.
What I also don't understand (if there was a crime commited) why woman (recently) have relationship with young men and they get out with probation and community service.
I guess I am ignorant when it comes to the law. Especially criminal law.
