My husband was involved in a car crash. His vehicle was a Jeep while the other party's was a Hummer. He was waiting to make a left turn at an intersection while the Hummer was on the opposite side, behind a white car, in the left turning lane. As the light turned yellow, my husband, after making sure that there were no oncoming vehicles, made his turn. As he was more than halfway into his turn, he suddenly saw the Hummer speed up and come out of the opposite left turn lane, right in his direction. He did not have enough time to get out of the way, with the result of the Hummer crashing into the right rear passenger side of the Jeep he was driving. EMTs were called by a bystander and checked up on him as he was having difficulty breathing and had pain in his right side. The police report shows this, as well as showing that none of the Hummer's occupants had any assistance from the EMTs. Now the other party has retained a lawyer to seek injury compensation. What are our options and what are the chances that they will be able to win?
