My husband has a child support order in NY state. His daughter is in CA. Child support has been paid in full and the state of NY has closed the case. Our problem is that CA is charging interest. The assistant DA in Erie county stated that we do not we do not owe interest. How do we get this case closed in CA? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You need to have NY send something to California. I would write a letter to his old support office and show what California has been charging. I would think NY would send a letter stating his case closed.

Sign-off on interest?

We asked the head of our local child support office what to do. He told us that there is nothing they can do because they are "not the same" office of child support. The two offices don't talk to each other. We had to play middle man between the two offices.

I heard something about having his ex "sign-off" on the interest. I don't think she will do it, but does anyone know about how to have her sign-off ?

Thank you for your reply.
