I am currently writing a book that concerns a woman starting a pornography website based in Austin, TX. All adult films would be filmed in this woman's house in Texas, though they would possibly receive payment through another production company based in San Francisco. I haven't decided.

I've done a lot of research about the legality of this idea, but I have never been able to get a straight answer from any resource. A lot of answers I do find contradict each other.

This is very important to my plot, so I appreciate any and all input on this.

Thank you.

Spend some money and hire a lawyer.
I don't see what difference legal accuracy makes.
If it's fiction, use literary license.
If it's biographical, ask the person whose biography you're writing.

What are the answers you are receiving? There are many factors that would go into answering such a question so I'm curious to hear what you heard.

army judge is also on target. As with any business endeavor that you intend to take seriously, if there is a definite issue regarding legality, you want to be right and at least appear prudent, not as if you didn't care and then have to deal with the repercussions later.
