My ex husband has been forced to pay child support after hiding for 17 years. Now that he's been found and his wages garnished to repay 17 years of support, can I demand that he carry life insurance naming my son as beneficiary to make sure my son gets everything he has coming to him?

He lives in Tennessee and I in Alabama. When he was finally located by our state agency (DHR), their attorney did an outstanding job of obtaining the order for support for the past 17 years. However, the order also states that he and I are to swap information, such as address, phone number, etc., but they cannot tell me how to do this because he did not appear in court. They can't even tell me his place of employment. If it is possible to get an order forcing him to carry life insurance to cover what he owes my son, how can I know that he is keeping up with the policy payments? Also, what is the best way to locate him to file this action, without hiring a PI?

Any advice on this matter is very surely appreciated.

Susan
