I lived illegally in USA approx 8 years. In 2009 I got married with a Canadian citizen, she sponsored me (this application is still in process). in 2008 I was arrested in Buffalo by the border patrol on my way to Buffalo, at that time I applied for a Immigration bond. This petition was successful and a bond was issued for the amount of $10,000, as I understood the main condition of this bond was that I am required to appear in court. However my hearing was canceled a couple of times since 2008 and the new date of this hearing is in June 2011. My Problem is that I could not make it to the hearing for the following reason
I traveled to Canada a month ago, since my sponsorship application is still in process I entered to Canada as a refugee.
I would like to know if it is possible to get a refund of the bond If I already leave USA soil or is there a chance I could travel to USA and appear in my hearing while retaining my refugee status in Canada?
thank you in advance

Catch 22 for you!

If you don't appear, you lose your bond.

If you leave Canada, there goes your refugee petition.

Stay in Canada, you'll never get that bond back.

You're better off in the land of the great white north.
