My jurisdiction is: Texas
My son was married in Georgia 10 months ago, he on active duty in Germany she is in TX, she refused to go & refuses to reconcile. She has his Truck, title was singed to him but not transfered to him yet, Is the vehicle still his legal responsibility ( to insure)or the previous owners ? Since TX community property the police will not allow him to reclaim it even tho its not legally register in his name or hers. There were no children, so what can he expect to have to surrender to her in a divorce settlement, married less the a year? Will he have to retain a lawyer in TX to represent him? Is he still legally obligated to support her if they file a divorce? Please any advice I can give him to protect hisself would be helpful.
