Hi. I work in western MA, in healthcare. My department may be closing due to current outbreak. If this happens, but they offer employment in a different state (variety of states offered, closest would be CT), more than likely not same job, would I still be eligible for unemployment?

    thank you

If you refuse the work you would have to have good cause. Distance is often the deciding factor and so is pay, or a combination of both. And there might be other criteria involving the Corona Virus.

Read the MA statute regarding Disqualification of Benefits. There are a few points in there that might help you.

Also read this Board of Review decision where a worker was found qualified for benefits after refusing work that involved a 1-2 hour commute during rush hour.

You may be able to find other decisions at the Board of Review's website.

It's possible that Unemployment Compensation eligibility may become more liberal due to the current crisis.

What you "believe" is not particularly useful. AJ provided the necessary information.
