I sold my car and the new owner did not register the car under his name. He ended up registering the car under his name 2 months after I sold him the car. The new owner went to visit family in New York and New Jersey and got several unpaid Toll tickets, red light tickets and parking tickets while the car was still register under my name. The New owner has paid most of the tickets but refuses to pay the las 2 tickets. Can I sue him? I have the bill of sale with the date I sold him the car. Can anyone help me out with any legal advise?

When you sold the car did you notify the DMV of the sale? Failure to do so leaves you on the hook in such situations.

You can sue him, but you would first have to pay the citations. You may even likely win if you can show the date of sale and that he paid other citations since then.

The real question is whether he will pay you if you win a judgment.

Prior to trying to sue him you should see what the DMV can do for you.
