I need help with copyrighting and patent design

Hello, i have been making handmde crochet bags for the last year now. I have two questions:

1. How can I copyright my patents for free, or for a affordable price?

2. If I copyright a patent, do i still then to send it in for patenting by the state?

I think you are confusing the terms.

Trademark and Patent might be what you are after. I'm not sure there is a "patent" that you can file for since it deals with inventions. Are you trying to copy the "style" or "trade dress" of your crochet bag line? This might be trademark related. You may want to speak with an attorney if you don't know how to do this yourself, especially if you have a real business. How are your bags different from others? This is a question you need to answer.
