I get a call from a friend who says her mom got her a new phone, it turns out the phone is stolen but I did not know until the actual owner told me. Can I be an accessory to theft for it?

If you weren't there when it was stolen or have anything to do with it being stolen, you are not guilty of anything. (Are you maybe saying you are the one who sold the phone to your friend's Mom - not real clear.)

As one does not generally ask the origin of the phone from which a friend calls, how could you possibly be responsible for receiving a call from a stolen phone?

If you area juvenile, the first thing you want to do is stop blabbing about this.
The second thing you want to do is inform your parents.
Be advised, if you are a juvenile, EVERYTHING about this will be known to them if charges are levied against you.
No matter what, until you turn age 18, always inform your parents.
