My Husband And I Just Recently Had His Nephew And Girlfriend Plus Baby Moved In With Us. They Are Not Married Yet They Want To. My Question Is That Her Mom Dose Not Want To Enroll Her Into School. She Asked If My Husband And I Could Get Power Of Attorney Over Her To Get Her Back In School. I Am Very Hesistant Because If She Missed School For What Ever Reason I Don't Want To Be Held Liable. If And When They Get Married Will We Still Have Power Over Her Or Will Her Husband Since She Is Still Underage.

How old is the girl and how old is your nephew?

Did the girl's mother approve of her move to your house?

To get guardianship or power of attorney, you will most likely need the girl's mother's cooperation. Why doesn't her mother want her in school?

She is 15 years old and he just turned 18 they have a 9month old baby now. Yes her mom know that she is living with us and is ok with it. Her mom really doesn't care if she gose back to school..Her mom is a young mom as well and into drugs and i think unfit... But thats my opinion.. her mom has two young sons and i dont think the oldest is going to school either...
