hi all,
i'll apologise in advance if this goes on a bit, i'm not good at written explanations.
my husband's ex has stopped all contact and communications between us and his kids. up until the beginning of the year when we became homeless, we had the kids 2 weekends a month and at school holidays.
the short explanation is that about a month ago the ex got back in touch with my sister in law (who we dont speak to due to previous offences by my brother in law, they all took his side against us), and since her attitude to us has completely changed.
we have had concerns about the children's welfare for a while now, mostly regarding the stepdad (doesn't feed them properly and has held a screwdriver to my stepsons throat) and more importantly their schooling.(they went to 5 different primary schools, they are now at secondary school and already down on the waiting list for a different school), the mum also is hardly at home as she works 3 jobs and then goes out with her mates in the evening. there is other legal stuff we know of as well.
we will be moving into a new home in 3 weeks, and plan to start legal action against her but i wanted to find out what people thought maybe our chances would be of either going for custody or for contact consisting of 2 weekends a month, half terms, week at easter and xmas and 3 weeks at summer. obviously if we go for custody, what i've put as contact is a minimum of what we would offer the mum.
