How do I edit my initial post?

I posted earlier and realized I put my name in it. When I click on the edit button, it doesn't take me to edit mode. Is there anyway to do this?

The limitation on editing for junior users (for only about 15-30 minutes) is a result of spam issues. Spammers are fond of posting messages that look legitimate and then go back later to edit their messages to contain links or references to buying handbags, Uggs, you name it.
