Did you default on the payments?

Were you consistently late in paying the note?

Co-signers can, in cases where one person is tardy paying, get the lender to remove you from the loan.

I suspect that once that was done, the lender helped her get the title corrected.

Otherwise, there are less legal ways that crafty people use.

A co-signer(co-owner) cannot be removed from a title without said co-signers signature. Now if a person were only a guarantor on a loan, and not actually a co-owner, their name would not appear on the title to begin with.
