After they battery rammed the door for a search and seizure... are the police supposed to tape up the door, secure it somehow from theft of any kind? What is the proper police procedure in this regard, can they just keep the door unsecured?

Different agencies have different policies.

If they destroyed the door and failed to take reasonable steps to secure it later, then they might be at least partially liable if your place is ripped off by entry through the unsecured door. However, if they took down the door because the occupants refused to answer it, then they may say, "Tough!"

Make a claim for damages to the agency involved and see if they pay it. If they don't, try small claims court.
