I purchased a condo in 2004 which included a Washer/Dryer. The building was built in 1993 and before their was a Board of Directors for the HOA, the developer allowed the original owner to install this washer/dryer. Now the Board has changed the rules and decided that Washer/Dryers are not allowed in the complex at all and existing ones must be removed. I would like to fight to keep the washer/dryer, but if I must remove it I would like for the board to pay for removal and returning the unit to its original condition. Should I present my case to the Board or hire an attorney and contact the HOA Management Company's Attorney?
Thanks for any help or suggestions on this.

Present your case to the BOD first and make sure that you have a convincing case (don't say that you want them to incurr the expense because you feel that it is their problem since they were the ones that changed the rules - a statement like that will sound vindictive and will not go well with them). Request that they tell you why such decision and what can they do to help those who have such items in their condos. Hope this helps!
