Hippa Violation

    Turn in Dr note to employer. Employer calls Dr office to verify Dr note and the last Dr appt visit and the information is given to the employer without consent of the patient is that a Hippa Violation of the privacy act

    Was there any information given to the employer that was not already in the note?

    Employer may always call and ask. It also depends what you signed with the doctor as to what information they may give and to whom.
