If you plead GUILTY or are CONVICTED, it will forever stain your once, lily white record.
You might be offered some sweet sounding deals, no matter what anyone says, you'll still end up with a misdemeanor theft related conviction, should you plead guilty or be adjudicated GUILTY.
So, appear at the appointed hour, on the appointed date, plead NOT guilty, ask if you can have a PUBLIC DEFENDER appointed to assist you.
If you don't get a PD, you'll have to HIRE your own lawyer, or pretend to be a lawyer and try to see if you can get a good deal.
As far as fines and costs, if convicted, $200 plus fees, and court costs, so expect the FINAL amount to be HIGHER.
Not to worry, payment plans are often available to pay that debt to the state.
