help with kids

i have been seperated from my wife for over a year and she has had the kids since we have not been to court over custody but she filed for child support through families first. i went to get my kids and her mom and aunt which hace had the kids most of the time as she is a stripper and hardly home told me i need to take my kids because the need a stable enviorment . so on this and some other things i did take them now what do i do? I need to find out what steps to take to take care of my children please some one help.

You'll need to file a petition for custody at your county's courthouse. You may be able to find the forms online if your county or state court has an online self-help link on their website.

File for divorce and ask for temporary custody until it's finalized.
