help i cant afford a divorce

im a student rt now and i havent been with my husband foe more than 12 yrs what are my options ? i was 13 when i got pregnant w/ our child and he was 18

I'm in the same boat as you are. And until we are divorced, I can't move on with my life. Anyway, I contacted the State legal services here in Ks and they hooked me up with a lawyer who will do it for half of what the other lawyers were asking.

Several questions.

Do you work? If not and your husband is working, you can probably see an attorney and see about billing your husband for legal fees.

You are eligible for child support and possibly temporary alimony.

Or you can call legal aid and see if you qualify.

Have you told your husband you want a divorce? It does not have to be expensive if you guys can agree on most things. Also most courts offer family mediation for low cost.
