Hi,
I received a summons the last week of August (however it was dated jul 31, 2008). I am being sued by Asset Acceptance, LLC for a debt I incurred with Citibank. According to the paperwork the plaintiff alleges that I became indebted to Citibank within the last 4 years on an open book account for money due in the sum of $2364.05. I know for a fact that I became indebted to Citibank in 2001, not within the last 4 years. Is this falsification on the plaintiffs part?? Do I need to file bankruptcy?? I realize it is a low amount however I was in an auto accident 2 years ago and way behind on hospital bills, so I really would like to settle this out of court and I'm not sure what to do .... what can I do?? Should I complete a Stipulation to Participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)??
